President Donald Trump said he and Chinese leader Xi Jinping made progress on a TikTok agreement and pledged to meet face to face in just over a month in South Korea.
The U.S. House of Representatives on Friday passed a stopgap government funding bill to avert a partial government shutdown beginning Oct. 1, sending it on to the Senate for approval. The House narrowly approved the package by a vote of 217–212, with two Republicans joining Democrats in opposition.
