Burma's ruling military regime declared a state of emergency in multiple regions on March 28 after a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck the country. The quake rocked Southeast Asia on Friday, killing more than 140 people and causing extensive damage, with rescuers in Bangkok searching for 81 people in the rubble of a collapsed building.
President Donald Trump is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to get involved in his legal battle regarding the Alien Enemies Act. The emergency appeal calls for the nation’s highest court to overturn a previous order from a U.S. district judge that blocked additional deportations related to the Act.
