President Donald Trump on Friday fired the commissioner of Labor Statistics, accusing the Biden appointee of revising jobs numbers. In a social media post, the president said he was informed that Commissioner Erika McEntarfer had manipulated labor statistics to help Democratic candidate Kamala Harris win the White House.
Trump announced Friday that he's ordering two nuclear submarines to be repositioned in case of Russian aggression. The move follows comments from Dmitry Medvedev—Russia’s former president and current chairman of the Security Council—who spoke of a possible war with the United States.
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB)—which funds NPR and PBS—will begin to wind down its operations. This comes after an appropriations bill for fiscal year 2026 passed by Congress excludes funding for CPB for the first time in more than five decades.
