Naval Station Norfolk, US – On March 31, 2026, the Nimitz-class nuclear-powered supercarrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77), flagship of the George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group, departed Naval Station Norfolk to begin operations supporting its scheduled deployment to the Middle East.

More than 5,000 personnel are assigned to the strike group, providing combatant commanders and America’s civilian leaders with enhanced capacity to strengthen security, deter adversaries, and project power globally.
