Sometimes, people get stuck thinking that only one type of person can do something. These biases can make you think you can’t be who you want to be when you grow up. 

This episode of NowThis Kids, host Naomi Wadler is talking about bias and diversity in one of the most important fields there is: science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

We speak to Yamilée Toussaint Beach, founder of STEM from Dance, which encourages Black and Brown girls to get involved with STEM, and Makeda Neavill who is pursuing her passions in the program. 

Correspondent Alejandro Alba explains why assumptions aren’t always helpful, and why having people from all walks of life working together can create better solutions to the world's problems.
