Can’t agree on what movie to watch or what to have for dinner? Voting among friends and family is a great way to decide those small things, but it’s also the way most places choose their leaders like mayors, senators, and even the president!

This week on NowThis Kids, host Naomi Wadler is talking about voting: how it works, why it matters, and how we can make sure that everyone has their voices heard.

We speak to Ashley Jorgensen who is a part of Kids Voting USA an organization that teaches kids all about voting, all about the importance of getting involved in your elections. You may have heard of democracy – but what is it? Correspondent Alejandro Alba explains how democratic elections work.
