Show Notes
In this week's Jumu'ah khutbah, delivered live at the Mesquite Islamic Center in Texas, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan highlights a powerful mindset given to us in the Quran in Surah Ash-Shuraa, in which the Prophet ﷺ is commanded by Allah to remain steadfast upon his mission, regardless of all the animosity from his opposition.
Despite the Prophet ﷺ having advantages whilst delivering the message to his people - e.g. being widely recognized as trustworthy, truthful, intelligent, etc. - he ﷺ is still told by Allah that many will not answer his call. There will be hardship, there will be great animosity, yet despite this, the Prophet ﷺ is commanded to keep going.
This gives us a great lesson in motivation vs conviction; had the Prophet ﷺ relied only on motivation - i.e. a positive response from his people - the mission would have been incredibly difficult. Rather, Allah is reminding him ﷺ to remain steadfast upon his conviction, and to have no doubt that he will succeed.
