In this episode of The Quran for Hearts & Minds: The Power of Maqamat, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan and Qari Ibraheem Bakeer take us into one of the most heartbreaking moments in the Quran, when Nuh عليه السلام calls out to his son in the middle of the storm (Hud 11:42–43).
The Quran doesn’t just tell us what happened. It shows us a father, after 950 years of preaching, watching his son climb to his death while refusing his final plea. Nuh couldn’t even bring himself to call his son a disbeliever. He just said, “Don’t be with them.”
As the waves rose, so did the emotion and Maqam recitation brings that grief to life in a way the heart can’t ignore.
