Jung Myung-Seok started the Jesus Morning Star church in the 1970s in South Korea. The movement was able to gain popularity very quickly, especially among university students in Seoul and has even expanded to other countries. However, the church has been called a “sex cult” in the media due to the numerous allegations of sexual assaults made towards their leader and founder.
