For this episode, Physical Education In Virtual Reality, The Gateway is proud to welcome Dr. Zachary Wahl-Alexander, Associate Professor of Physical Education Teacher Education at Northern Illinois University. With a Ph.D. in Human Performance from the University of Alabama, Dr. Wahl-Alexander’s research examines which pedagogical changes can inform and impact teaching practices within the context of physical education and physical activity. Dr. Wahl-Alexander also investigates the sport education pedagogical model, negotiated curriculum and building community-based partnerships (i.e., summer camps, juvenile detention centers) focused on providing youth opportunities to be physically active.
