Ep 78Events! With Terri Janison and Christian Kolberg

This week Stacey and Andy continue the conversation about fundraising events with guest experts Terri Janison and Christian Kolberg. Caring about our future starts with caring for our children. Terri has spent her entire adult life working on behalf of children and families in need. A Las Vegan for 27 years, she has built a reputation for connecting the right people to the right causes by serving on education and non-profit boards and working for government and non-profit agencies that support families and children. She served as an elected official as a CCSD school board trustee (the 5th largest school district in the nation) and joined Governor Sandoval’s senior team in 2011 to advocate for education policy on a statewide basis. Terri currently works as a consultant to support those in need…and still volunteers for the causes she holds near to her heart. Proud of the work she does, her highest accomplishments are raising two successful and compassionate children with her husband of 32 years. Christian Kolberg is one of the best-known charity benefit auctioneers in the nation. While he is a familiar face in the Southern Nevada non-profit community, what many may not know is that Christian auctions galas throughout the world. Nationally, he has auctioned events including the Big Ticket Gala for the Super Bowl; the MusicCares gala for the Grammy’s, and The International Air Show in OshKosh Wisconsin. He has consulted and done work in the non-profit community for US Presidents (on both sides of the political spectrum); governors; celebrities…and one of his favorites, a cake auction for his niece’s local Girl Scout troop. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Christian worked for the Donrey Media Group as the Marketing Director for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and other property holdings for over 15 years and then worked in a similar capacity at the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation (Nevada’s largest charitable foundation) before entering the benefit auction world full time 16 years ago.
