The main topic is how to read the Book of James, which Mike describes as being filled with over 50 imperatives or commands in about 100 verses. To help listeners understand the book, he explains its historical context, noting that it was likely the first New Testament book written, around 44-46 A.D., about 10-15 years after Jesus's resurrection. Mike explains that James is not a book to get salvation, but rather a guide for how Christians, saved by grace, should live in light of a resurrected Savior, calling this the "third use of the law".</span>
