Over the weekend, the Trump Administration imposed tariffs on America’s three biggest trading partners: Canada, Mexico, and China. Trump is slapping a 25% tariff on imports from Mexico and Canada and a 10% tariff on goods from China. Energy imported from Canada, including oil, natural gas, and electricity, would be taxed at 10%. Tariffs on Mexico have been paused for one month and tariffs on Canada have been paused for 30 days. Why is Trump imposing these tariffs?
