Ep 1085 - Shark Hanlon on his 10-month suspension
Tom Stanley in for Nick and joined by trainer Shark Hanlon who responds to yesterday’s news that he has been suspended for 10 months, 5 months of which are suspended, for transporting a deceased horse in an open trailer. Shark takes us through the course of events that led to the hearing and confirms his intention to appeal the decision. Jane Mangan gives us an overview of the case and we also discuss the news of former racehorse Bedelia, pictures of whom emerged yesterday on social media looking malnourished having arrived in the UK from Ireland where she was trained. Jane gives her views on the two European Group 1s this weekend and also looks ahed to next week’s Irish Champions Weekend. We hear from trainer Charlie Fellowes who has Vadream in the Betfair Sprint Cup and also the exiting 2yo Luther at Haydock. Tom in for Nick and joined by the Racing Post’s Jonathan Harding. They both tie up a few notable stories from the week including the news that all jockeys who missed intended breath sampling last month have been cleared of any wrongdoing. Jonathan also gives his view on Callum Shepherd’s successful appeal against an 18-day ban. Jour de Galop’s Adrien Cugnasse is along to flesh out the possibility of geldings running in the Arc and we also pay a visit to Noel George who outlines plans for stable star Il Est Francais. And with two Group 1 races on the horizon in Europe this weekend we hear from Big Rock’s trainer Maurizio Guarnieri, with his charge likely to swerve the race, and from Charyn’s rider Silvestre De Sousa. And Tom Eaves joins us to hail Betfair Sprint Cup favourite Inisherin the best he has sat on.

Ep. 1083 - Has the trainers’ boycott started already?
Nick is joined this morning by ITV Racing's Matt Chapman and they look at whether the fact there are only two runners in this afternoon's fillies maiden at Southwell is a sign of things to come and the first example of trainers boycotting races on grounds of poor prize money. News came through yesterday of a successful appeal by Callum Shepherd against his 18 day ban and we hear from Callum himself as well as commercial litigator, Harry Stewart Moore, who predicts whether this case may have opened pandora's box for similar future cases. Nick is also joined by Hollie Doyle, who yesterday rode her 1000th winner and cites influences from her childhood that have made her the successful, competitive, grafter she is today. Finally, following the Tattersalls Somerville sale we hear from Dermot Kilmartin on a successful couple of days for him and his son, Ruairi.
