On February 3rd around 9:00pm a Norfolk Southern freight train crashed in the town of East Palestine, Ohio. Approximately 50 cars derailed in the crash, 11 of the cars were carrying hazardous materials, including vinyl chloride. The Maryland State Department of Education recently released the 2022 state test results, known as MCAP, Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program. Baltimore City’s math scores were the lowest in the state. Just 7% of third through eighth grade students tested proficient in math.
