Show Notes
Flick Pick is a podcast about movies. In today’s episode, Andrew Green reviews Halloween Ends, the new Halloween movie.
Currently in theaters and on Peacock, Halloween Ends ends the trilogy (???) that started with Halloween 2018. It brought back Jamie Lee Curtis for a long-awaited showdown with Michael Myers.
Up next in that trilogy was Halloween Kills, which was terrible.
Now, we’ve got Halloween Ends, which seeks to end the trilogy (????) that is this most recent iteration of Halloween, which tells a new Halloween story following the events of the FIRST Halloween while ignoring all of the other ones.
So, let’s make this clear. There are approximately 145649568496841 Halloween films. Starting with Halloween 2018, the ONLY ones that matter are the very first Halloween (1978), and then Halloween 2018, Halloween Kills, and now Halloween Ends.
Wait. So, how is this a trilogy?
Hang on.
OK, so there are three more recent Halloween movies. THEN there is the FIRST Halloween movie, from 1978. So, again, how is this a trilogy?
Whatever. I don’t want to think about it. Just accept that Halloween Ends is the final installment in the current Halloween trilogy.
Got it? I don’t.
Anyway, did Andrew enjoy Halloween Ends, or did he leave the theater seeking the more comforting embrace of Jason Voorhees and the Friday the 13th movies instead? At least when those movies are stupid, no one cares.
Whatever.
