John's program this week is a reprise from some years ago. His guest was Pavel Palecek, an historian, political activist and documentarian from Brno in the Czech Republic. The focus of their discussion then was of a Czech military and judicial leader during the Second World War and the Occupation of Czechoslovakia by the Russians until 1992. They talk over this person, Judge Kraal, and the award-winning documentary Pavel produced about this person so dedicated to his beliefs in Communism that led him to do acts which were later condemned as a distortion of the role of an independent judiciary. Muffin is a 2-year old female mini Pit Bull Terrier mix. Muffin only weighs 35 pounds and she is absolutely adorable! She came to us as a stray and warmed up to people instantly, showing us what a sweetheart she is. Muffin loves to play ball and will take as many treats as you will give her. We're unsure of how Muffin will be with other dogs, but she doesn't seem to mind the dogs here at the shelter. Muffin is the kind of girl who will be happy to go everywhere with you, but also enjoy hanging out on the couch.
