Ep 461The Sermon on the Mount: Staying Kind in Hard Places
The Sermon on the Mount: Staying Kind in Hard Places The Sermon on the Mount is considered Jesus' "magnum opus" or "great work”. In ways very subtle, the message gently calls to look at life in a new way ... and to live in new ways even in hard places. Ep 445Grief and Joy
Grief and Joy Easter’s power is around a cycle known well to all of humanity - Death, Waiting, Resurrection. Restated, we face loss, a loss followed by a time of uncertainty/ unknowing, a time in turn that gives rise to a surprising re-birth. Jesus walked that path with his disciples over Easter. We will walk it with God as well … a path of grief and a path of joy. Ep 444The Beauty in Finding God Again
The Beauty in Finding God Again We live in an age where skepticism is often given greater credence than faith. And something still yearns for that ‘link’ with God, to find that child-like beauty again. How can we find God again in the magical, not just the logical? Ep 443Finding Beauty in the World Around Us
Finding Beauty in the World Around Us Through the world around us we experience God. Through people, in things and in nature, He is with us. Ep 442The Beauty of Doing the Right Thing
The Beauty of Doing the Right Thing The first place where we often experience awe in our lives is when we witness the moral beauty over the kindness, strength, courage and grit of others, a place where, as Toni Morrison phrased it, “we allow goodness its own speech.” We let it speak for itself. Often, we are left in awe at those who simply do the right thing. Ep 441You Are Not Alone
You Are Not Alone When we are connected to those around us, we are able to feel God’s presence in our lives. It’s through naming and sharing our struggles that we feel more connected to one another, and more connected to God. When we share our struggles out loud, they lose their power and we can draw strength from the knowledge that we are not alone, and that there are others who are walking alongside us on our journey. Ep 438The Joy of Cleaning Ourselves Up
The Joy of Cleaning Ourselves Up You can't spend much time in the stories of Jesus without coming across the dreaded R-word: Repent! Is religion just a lot of feeling bad about ourselves and condemnation? No, in fact, the spiritual process of striving to be kinder, more loving people is designed to be manageable, and even, at times, fun! We'll explore the true meaning of the words "My yoke is easy, and My burden is light." When we say a prayer for gratitude, thankfulness can become the greatest happiness. Think back and remember the last time you truly wanted to say “thank you” to someone - not because you felt like it was the polite thing to do, but because your heart was really moved by gratitude for the thing they had done. Now imagine what it would be like to feel the same way about life itself. with Curtis Childs 11/20/22

Jesus famous assertion that “I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me’ tells us everything about not just physical needs, but the spiritual needs we all have too.
