Spiritual connection through prayer is how we build, maintain, and enrich our relationship with God. Prayer is not asking for something, but acknowledging the presence of God with us, in any and every situation. When we say a prayer for gratitude, thankfulness can become the greatest happiness. We rarely talk about aging with positive messaging. How then do we work towards finding gratitude as we age? It comes over time by shifting our thoughts from complaint to gratitude. Life and our circumstances may not "get better", but we simply learn to get better at accepting life. 11/13/22

As a church we are committed to learning about issues that impact both individual members of our church and our community as a whole. With that in mind, recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness month. To honor this Pastor Chuck interviewed Betty Lindberg. Betty is a Domestic Violence survivor who endured 4 years of abuse and suffered traumatic injuries in her early 20’s. Today, she is a Domestic Violence Advocate that has spent the last 14 years providing first response crisis support to others in a similar situation. By sharing her story and using her experiences, knowledge and training, she hopes to encourage others to seek help, end the silence, and raise awareness to Stop Domestic Violence. In this interview we explore the topics of domestic violence, healthy vs. unhealthy relationships and the ways in which people may find themselves in one of those situations. EPISODE WEBSITE

Finding gratitude in our lives is something we can cultivate, a practice so to speak. When we create a daily gratitude practice we are able to uncover the gifts within it all. It is through practicing gratitude we are able to trust that even in hard times God is there too. 10/30/22
