Show Notes
The Mets suffered losses in both of their spring training games on Saturday, falling to the Astros 7-5 at home and the Nationals 3-1 away. Mark Vientos had a bright spot with his first home run of the spring. Marcus Semien shone with a three-run double and a nice grab in right field, but Ryan Lambert struggled in the eighth, allowing a three-run homer. Jorge Polanco had a throwing error at first base. Mike Tauchmans injury opened the door for A J Salgado, who performed well. Jonah Tong started the home game, showing promise with his curve and changeup, while Francisco Alvarez had a sharp eye and an RBI single. The away pitchers held strong until Joey Wiemers walk-off homer in the ninth. The Mets will face the Marlins tomorrow on the road.
