Matt Snell, the fullback who scored the only touchdown in the New York Jets historic Super Bowl III victory, has passed away at 84. Born in Georgia and raised on Long Island, Snell starred at Ohio State before joining the Jets as their third overall pick in the AFL. He earned rookie of the year in 1965, making three all-star teams and becoming the Jets career rushing leader. After football, Snell worked in various fields and even pitched Miller Lite beer. The family plans a private funeral and asks for privacy.
