The New York Yankees will retire CC Sabathias number fifty-two on September twenty-sixth, making him the twenty-fourth player with a retired number in the teams history. Sabathia, a six-time All-Star and the 2007 AL Cy Young Award winner, will have his plaque unveiled in Monument Park before the game against the Baltimore Orioles. He joins former teammates Derek Jeter and Andy Pettitte with plaques at Yankee Stadium. Sabathia, who spent nineteen seasons in the majors, posted a 251-163 record with a 3.74 ERA and 3,093 strikeouts. With the Yankees from 2009 to 2019, he went 134-88.
