Show Notes
Journalist Julia Angwin is suing Superhuman, the parent company of Grammarly, for using her name and expertise in their AI editing tool without permission. The tool, called Expert Review, charged users for personal editing advice attributed to Angwin, despite her never agreeing to this or providing any input. Angwin, a New York Times contributor, is seeking at least five million dollars in damages and wants the practice stopped, claiming Superhuman violated privacy laws. Superhuman has admitted the tool missed the mark and promises a better approach, but plans to fight the lawsuit.
