Show Notes
Local lawmakers, including Assemblymember Micah Lasher, are demanding video footage from Columbia University and the NYPD after immigration agents arrested a student, Ellie Aghayeva, in her off-campus apartment. The agents, posing as police searching for a missing child, gained entry to a university-owned building. The school captured some of this on camera but wont release it without a court subpoena. The agents arrested Aghayeva over a revoked student visa, and she was released hours later. Legal experts suggest the agents ruse may violate laws and Fourth Amendment rights.
