Show Notes
City Park Conservancy in New Orleans receives a $2 million gift from the Samuel Barton Stewart III Memorial Foundation to transform a historic maintenance corral into the S. Barton Stewart III Center. This new public space will connect the parks north and south sides, featuring renovated gathering areas and improved access to nature and recreation spots. The center is expected to open in fall 2027, with work on the building and surrounding landscape creating a modern gateway with improved views of Little Lake and the Pelican Greenhouse. The project honors the Stewart familys legacy and aims to bring people together for generations, with support from the Greater New Orleans Foundation and the state of Louisiana. Other City Park twenty fifty efforts, such as field upgrades, better accessibility, and new signage, are also progressing.
