Show Notes

In her new book, Globalisation, the State and Regional Australia (Sydney University Press, 2018), Amanda Walsh, associate director of government relations at Australian Catholic University, explores the political and economic consequences of globalization across Australia nationally and in regional Australia specifically.  Using a series of case studies on the manufacturing, dairy, and ethanol industries in the Shoalhaven region of New South Wales, she shows how the state’s role in promoting and mediating globalizing forces have affected regional communities.
