Jesus had to suffer and die to rescue people from the prison of sin, and then He would establish His reign. Therefore, Jesus tells his cousin, John, that as the Messiah, he needs to trust Him because He knew what He was doing. That sounds minor until we realize that Jesus was telling John that it was a part of His plan for him to die in prison. This begs the question, when we don't get what we want, do we still trust Jesus?
