<p>A good servant of Christ Jesus is one who's life actually lines up with what they claim to believe. Paul tells Timothy to "Guard your life and your doctrine." Good servants of Jesus don't allow there to be a disconnect between life and doctrine.</p>

<p>If worship is everything ,than naturally worship becomes nothing. Music is a wonderful opportunity for God's children to engage in the praise of Gods name. So, what does Jesus say is an acceptable posture of worship?</p>

<p>Worship is more than just singing love songs to Jesus. Worship is our battle cry. In moments of battle, we are not called to engage in war, we are called to worship Christ because he has already won the war. We fight from victory, not for victory.</p>

<p>One way that we worship Jesus is to simply remember all that he has done for us. This is a sermon documenting how the local church fits into the grand scheme of Gods plan.</p>

<p>People who are marked by an encounter with God in worship will shake the foundations of a city. Pastor Josh demonstrates through powerful personal examples what happens "When God Shows Up." When people worship (truly worship) the foundations in the spiritual realms are shaken. Just as Moses encountered God's glory and led Israel out of captivity, we can encounter God's glory. Josh teaches on the difference between God's Omnipresence and Manifest Presence.<br>Josh also answers the question, "Why music?" Music is an integral part of the creation. Every culture, every tongue, even in heaven, music is a central part of how we interact with the creation.</p>

<p>When our eyes are opened to who we are in light of who God is, we are always moved to action.</p>

<p>One of the main enemies to our worship is a misunderstanding of who God is. Once we get a glimpse of who he is, worship becomes a natural response.</p>

<p>For those who truly trust in Christ; Jesus is more than just a good teacher or a moral man. Jesus is their treasure.</p>

<p>For the skeptic, they want their questions answered. For those who recognize their brokenness; they want to be healed. Jesus asks a lame skeptic a simple question that would forever change his life. Do you want to be healed?"</p>

<p>The last of our study through 1 Corinthians. We will recap the entire book and look at the central message that Paul is portraying to us as disciples of Jesus.</p>

<p>God has given each of us talents, abilities and certain giftedness. Are those gifts being used to the glory of your name or the glory of Christ's name through the building up of the church?</p>

<p>The mark of a person's maturity is not in their intellect, knowledge or even their outward expressions of faith. The mark of maturity is love.</p>

<p>Josh gives a brief but concise overview of Paul's teaching on the gifts of the Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12:1-11. Even though this is a huge topic, Josh illustrates the Biblical purpose, approach, and value of all the spiritual gifts being exercised within the body of Christ.</p>

<p>Paul's admonishes the Corinthian church for the way they were gathering for Worship. In fact, their meetings, according to Paul, were doing more harm than good.</p>

<p>When God saves a person, he immediately gives that person unique spiritual gifts. Those gifts are given to make much of Jesus' name and to be a blessing in the Kingdom of God. What are your gifts and how are you using them?</p>

<p>Believe it or not, there are specific instructions on how we are to behave in the corporate gathering for worship. Too often the church allows people to draw attention towards themselves and away from Christ.</p>

<p>Idolatry is anything more important to you than God. Its anything that you seek to give you what only God can give you. Idolatry is building your life and meaning on anything other than the Lord Jesus Christ. What does it look like to allow freedoms to become idols?</p>

<p>In this message, Josh expounds on approaching spiritual disciplines from a Kingdom perspective, not a personal legalistic approach. We discipline ourselves spiritually to achieve an eternal reward which far exceeds any prize the world has to offer.</p>

<p>Men are good for the spiritual health of the body of Christ. A study from Hartford Seminary found that the presence of involved men was statistically correlated with church growth, health, and harmony. Meanwhile, a lack of male participation is strongly associated with congregational decline.</p>

<p>Pastoral ministry is a calling and not a profession. All pastors are called to fulfill their God appointed duty regardless of whether or not the local church will honor them by paying them a salary.</p>

<p>Although we are called to honor God by honoring our conscience, the gospel doesn't allow us to use our conscience as a means of righteousness. Righteousness is obtained through Christ alone by faith alone.</p>

<p>Divorce is an epidemic in our culture; both within the church and outside of the church. What does the bible have to say about this controversial topic?</p>

<p>Being single is a gift of God. Utilize it to the glory of His name.</p>

<p>If our only fear is our sin being found out and we are not broken over our actual sin, than what does that say about our heart? A Christian was once dead and is now alive by God's grace. However, the enemy loves to convince dead people that they are alive.</p>

<p>Biblical community and going to a bible study or small group are completely different things. Current evangelicalism has taught us that sitting in a circle in someone's home for 90 minutes per week is biblical community. The early church would tell us that it's much more than that.</p>

<p>Scripture tells us that our hearts have the potential to turn away from the living God and seek other things to bring temporal gratification. If that is the case, what does it look like for us to fight the human heart together as we seek to bring glory to Jesus?</p>

<p>Pastoral ministry is a calling not a job. Although, pastors should be honored and respected as leaders in the church; their responsibility is not to be glorified by the church, but rather be servants of Jesus' church.</p>

<p>Christians, we are to live our lives with eternity in sight. This should motivate us toward obedience and righteousness, as we move closer day by day to our God, who is both our Rewarder and our ultimate Reward.</p>

<p>The evangelical church is full of grown-ups acting like children. It is time for the believers to stop relying on others to feed them and take care of them. Rather, as mature believers in Christ, it is time to start feeding and taking care of those coming behind us.</p>

<p>The Christians understanding of spiritual things is more than a knowledge of biblical words and theological ideas. It is an understanding of the reality and relevance of the works of god through Christ revealed to us by the Holy Spirit through the Scriptures.</p>

<p>In a sex saturated culture, Married Christian couples should actually be the ones who have more sex and better sex than anyone else. Why is that?</p>

<p>Nobody wants to have bad sex, yet we live in a culture that is full of it. How do we aviod bad sex in our lives so that we can fully enjoy the intimacy that we long for?</p>

<p>The Christian message is one that is absolutely hard to believe. Yet today a large percentage of our world believes in it. Why is that true and how is it possible?</p>

<p>We are all mortally wounded by sin. Sometimes, we are spiritually and emotionally wounded by other people’s sin. But no matter how we’ve been wounded, Jesus wants to mend our brokenness and make us ready to fulfill the purpose He has for us. He wants to make use healthy and strong and set us firmly on the rock - able to weather any storm for His glory.</p>

<p>Christianity is a belief system in which only time can tell of a persons legitimate heart transformation. Jesus makes it very clear that there are those who hear the word, rightly respond to the word and in time walk away from the Word.</p>

<p>Regardless of our stories, we are all the same. Together we are worthless made rich through the one size fits all cross of Jesus Christ.</p>

<p>To think that there can be a right or wrong way to pray seems legalistic and judgmental. But, the disciples saw something different in Jesus and asked him, "Lord, teach us to pray."</p>
