Karl writes about himself: I was and still am influenced by Gurdjieff and the 4th way teachings. Based on those ideas, in conjunction with my experiences, I was moved to start an intentional community communes as they were called back then as part of my vision that living together cooperatively was a solution to the dysfunctions of society that I could implement. From that experiment I realized that I didn't understand people or know myself, and that I needed help. So I went on a journey which eventually brought me to the Help I needed. That Help triggered my second STE. It also led me to marriage, a family, becoming a carpenter and contractor, and living in a spiritual community."
