P.M.H. Atwater is both an experiencer and a near-death researcher. Her book, The Big Book of Near-Death Experiences is not a repository of NDEs, but rather a kind of encyclopedia of the various aspects of near-death experiences. Today we read a few short samples from her book on the subject of four types of near-death experiences:
- Initial experiences
- Unpleasant/hellish experiences
- Pleasant/heavenly experiences
- Transcendent experiences
