Dr. Studin discusses the catastrophic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on education, particularly in Canada, and the concept of “third bucket kids,” referring to children who were neither in physical school nor virtual online school but received no education at all during the pandemic. He highlights the rapid transition of many students from physical to no school, emphasizing that this has led to under education and long-term consequences for these children. Dr. Studin also criticizes the decision-makers and leadership for failing to adequately address the crisis and calls for a concerted effort to find and educate the affected children, as well as a commitment to never repeat such a policy failure in the future.
