Survivor Story - Betrayed by Blood

On this episode of the Narcissist Survivor Society Podcast, we hear the story of a listener who shares their experience of narcissistic abuse from their brother. The writer describes how their brother, the "golden child" of the family, spent years subtly undermining the writer's confidence with backhanded compliments and lies, even taking credit for the writer's job. The writer details how their brother sowed discord between the writer and their romantic partner, spreading lies and rumors to create conflict. Even during the illness and eventual passing of their father, the writer's brother managed to center himself, diminishing the writer's role in the family and their relationship with their father. Ultimately, the writer makes the difficult decision to cut ties with their brother and rebuild their life, free from their brother's narcissistic control.
