According to Nora this was going to be the most wonderful wedding anniversary ever, that is if Nick had remembered as he hadn’t mentioned it all day. But Nick had remembered, he’d arranged for some flowers and a diamond necklace to be sent to Nora but instead the florist sent a bunch of lilies with a sympathy note and sent Nora’s flowers and diamonds to Gwen Gilroy a showgirl whom Nick used to date.
