When Jesus enters the narrative, he appears to play a tad ‘fast and loose’ with the law. His stated purpose is to fulfil the law. But this appears to mean something other than simply obeying the law.
How are we to make sense of this? What is our relationship to the laws presented in scripture? Are we to simply obey or is there something more for us to do?
