At Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, Minaj praised Trump and Vance, calling them "handsome" and "dashing," and described the administration as having "heart and soul." Her comments, especially a slip-up referring to Vance as an “assassin,” have led to intense scrutiny. Minaj’s political stance has evolved over the years, with past comments and actions suggesting a more neutral or critical position toward Trump, including in 2016 when she criticized him in her song "Black Barbies." Speculation about her shift in support has even linked it to her husband Kenneth Petty’s legal troubles. Despite the criticism, Minaj defended her right to express different opinions and deactivated her Instagram account following the backlash.
