Dr. Chong is a doctor in medicine, electric engineer, composer, musician, founder of Musician Clinics of Canada and Treasurer of Performer Arts Medicine Association (PAMA) He is famous for the using the term MADNESS. In this episode we talk about those common ailment that might affects a musician career such as muscle fatigue, carpal tunnel, tinnitus depression, anxiety, nerve entrapments, stress syndrome, the increase of suicidal thinking rate, among others. The sleep disorders are greater in music players than any other field. Dr. Chong has gathered data on issues that affect musicians such as: alcoholism, socio-economic stress, among other issues. He told me that the use of opioids, that has become a major issue in USA population, is seven times greater. This episode is very informative and tells you the gruesome reality of a profession that many people do not pay attention to it. PAMA is an organization that assists performing artists in all aspects concerning their health.
