The first time I listened to Danny Kean it took me back to the times that I used to watch Soul Train hidden away from my zealous racist parents. I did not understand quite well this genre, but it has some kind of mystic power that mesmerized me. Danny is a native New Yorker, grown and bred in the suburbs of Long Island. Our chat went from his childhood a memory, how tough is the music market and how much it has changed for better or for worse in these times. Danny keeps having so many gigs in Long Island and in Manhattan that I bet he has his own group of fan-club. Hey, I might start one is he does not have one. Danny is one of those people that the moment you start chatting with him you know you get what you see: an honest and great musician. He played and performed on the first season of American Idol and 4 times appeared in front of the Apollo Theatre’s tough audience.
