Show overview
MOVIES WITH MY MOTHER has been publishing since 2021, and across the 5 years since has built a catalogue of 107 episodes. That works out to roughly 150 hours of audio in total. Releases follow a fortnightly cadence.
Episodes typically run an hour to ninety minutes — most land between 1h 12m and 1h 35m — and the run-time is fairly consistent across the catalogue. The publisher flags most episodes as explicit, so expect adult themes or strong language throughout. It is catalogued as a EN-language TV & Film show.
The show is actively publishing — the most recent episode landed 2 weeks ago, with 9 episodes already out so far this year. The busiest year was 2025, with 26 episodes published. Published by Alexis Norton and Laurel East.
From the publisher
My mother and I sit down and watch a random cult classic movie, give listeners an overview and maybe a few opinions before we move on to talk about literally everything else. The gimmick is that I *love* movies and she hasn't seen a movie in a cinema since the 90s.

Ep 106EPISODE 106: V FOR VENDETTA
EMm and I sat down and watched V For Vendetta. We chatted the director, trivia and stats and had a theme meal of Egg In A Hole's with a side of hash and fruit. We get a little critical of current events and my brain melts down at the end. Go watch our accompanying TikTok.

Ep 105EPISODE 105: RONIN
EMom and I sat down to watch Ronin, a movie I was sure would cleanse her palate after The Shining. We had a lovely charcuterie board lunch and talked about the director, trivia and stats.

Ep 104EPISODE 104: THE SHINING
EMom and I finally sat down and watched The Shining. We didn't have very much snow to accompany it, but we enjoyed it nevertheless. We talked trivia, stats and the Kubrick of it all.

EMom and I are doubling back to Halloween 2025 and we watched the 1931 James Whale classic, Frankenstein. We talked about James Whale, the making of the movie and trivia. We had a lovely theme meal of our family's version of Rouladen and we made a ridiculous TikTok

EMom and I had a real celebration going on as we watched our 100th movie!

Ep 99EPISODE 99: ABIGAIL
EEnding our streak of favorite movies on our way to Episode 100, Mom and I sat down and watched Abigail. A bright spot in Universal Pictures Dark Universe, this movie is great. We talked the directors and trivia, and Mom learned more about Found Footage Films, and learned that Abigail was not Found Footage, to her relief. Find this movie, it really is one of the better horror movies of the last few years.

Ep 98EPISODE 98: THE WEDDING SINGER
EMom and I sat down with a good meatball and enjoyed The Wedding Singer for the umpteenth time. If you haven't seen this, it's time to move out from under your rock. The soundtracks are bomb. We talked the director, the trivia and just how well Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore mesh on screen.

Ep 97EPISODE 97: TOTALLY AWESOME
EMom and I sat down and watch an unhinged 80's parody, Totally Awesome. This movie had next to no trivia and mom wasn't able to dig too much up on Neil Brennan. It's on YouTube to watch in the shittiest resolution possible, but get your hands on a copy of this, you will love it.

Ep 96EPISODE 96: READY PLAYER ONE
EMom and I sat down and watched one of my favorite movies, Ready Player One. We had pizza as a theme meal, since there is no eating in the movie. We talked Spielberg, trivia and about my cats, who fought through the entire movie.

Ep 94EPISODE 94: THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN
EContinuing our Countdown to Episode 100, Mom and I sat down to watch one of my favorites, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. It's not a good movie, by any stretch, which makes it great! We talk the director, trivia and the Sean Connery of it all. In an effort to be a healthier version of steampunk, we had lettuce wrap sandwiches and lemon pound cake as our themed meal. Keep following us as we make our way to Episode 100! We will be doing our lost episode movie, Identity. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok for videos and updates.

Ep 92EPISODE 92: BILLY ELLIOT
EContinuing on our Countdown to 100, Mom and I watched Billy Elliot. We talked trivia, the director and a little bit of the musical. This movie is a sweet story, with a bomb soundtrack.

Ep 91EPISODE 91: DUDE, WHERE'S MY CAR?
EMom and I sat down and watch the ridiculous, Dude, Where's My Car? We had a lovely Garlic Chicken meal and had a limited conversation about the director and trivia, as there wasn't much on either. We also talked tattoos and stoner movies. Continue with us on our way to Episode 100!

Ep 90EPISODE 90: BYZANTIUM
EMom and I started our Countdown to Episode 100, with Byzantium. This is one of my favorite movies, by one of my favorite directors, Neil Jordan. The recording was a little wonky because the first twenty minutes got doubled when someone's ear touched my computer screen. I'm not naming names, but it starts with Tallulah. Prepare to hear me gushing. And continue to follow along as we continue to countdown to episode 100. LOL this is the first time Mom and I have planned a block of 10 movies. We are NEVER this prepared.

Ep 89EPISODE 89: MYSTERY MEN
