Show Notes

"Well, darlin', look out, cause my hair is comin' down!" We watched Thelma & Louise (1991) with our friend and special Oscars correspondent Joshua Clement and we'd risk it all for a night with early 90's Brad Pitt any day. We really get into the lore behind the making of this quintessentially American movie. From on-set spontaneous country line-dancing, to the long road to casting Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis. Ultimately it had to be those two - but could you see Meryl and Goldie hitting the road and raising hell? Susan and Geena went on to receive dual Academy Award nominations for Best Actress but it was another Southern spitfire who took the gold that year… but that conversation is for another episode (perhaps over some fava beans). Oscar wins or no, Thelma & Louise will be remembered for stunning lead performances, a controversial ending and bestowing Brad Pitt's 8 pack abs unto humanity.
