S3 Ep 17OUR OPENING DAY SPECIAL EPISODE
Congratulations everyone, we made it. Opening Day is finally upon us. Winter is officially over, and Spring has sprung. In this episode, Kenji and Gabe are celebrating the start of the season with 2 games, 1) What you rather do than go to a White Sox game? and 2) What are your craziest bold predictions leading into the season? In this episode, Gabe and Kenji are recapping the Tokyo series, including Roki Sasaki's flamethrowing debut, Ohtani's controversial homer, the Cubs looking flat, and much more. They also talk about where they'd like to see MLB's International Series go next. (Domincan Republic???)
S3 Ep 14Our Offseason WAR Draft
This episode, Gabe and Kenji are going through the moves of the offseason and drafting a starting lineup (and rotation) by Wins Above Replacement. A bit of nuance to this draft, as we had to dig deep into the offseason moves. We can only draft players who moved teams or moved leagues (NPB to MLB, for example). Tune in and listen to evaluate each squad and who did a better job drafting! Thanks for listening. Only one week until Cubs v Dodgers in Tokyo!
S3 Ep 13Roki Sasaki Makes His Debut and Gunnar Henderson is in question for Opening Day?
Roki Sasaki makes his long awaited debut, and he sure did not disappoint! His fastball movement stood out to Kenji and his Splitter spin rate was fascinating to Gabe. Plenty of injury notes from across the league as well, with Felix Bautista making his way back from injury, while guys like Luis Gil, Giancarlo Stanton, Gunnar Henderson, Manny Machado, Adolis Garcia, Wyatt Langford, Corbin Carroll and more have all been dealing with either more serious strains or general spring training aches and pains.
S3 Ep 12Our 2025 Homer Draft
Drafting one player from every team, Kenji and Gabe attempt to fill out a roster with more home runs than the other guy. Each team that is taken is off the board, so by the end of the episode the guys are drafting some pretty obscure players from their respective teams. Full credit to Jomboy Media and Talkin' Baseball for the idea, which we changed slightly. We had a great time doing this, please rate and review us wherever you get your podcasts, and we will see you Thursday!
S3 Ep 11Shohei Ohtani v Travis Hunter, Yankees News, and Samuel Basallo is the Real Deal
In this episode, Gabe and Kenji briefly touch on the newest news in the world of Major League Baseball. Travis Hunter says he's more impressive of a player than Shohei, and the Yankees are holding their breath on Luis Gil, Cody Bellinger homers, Samuel Basallo goes 500 feet, and the Red Sox Top Prospects continue to hammer the baseball in Spring Training.
S3 Ep 10Gabe's Predictions for the 2025 MLB Season: Division Winners, Wild Card, and World Series
Now it's Gabe's turn to breakdown his picks for the 2025 MLB Season Standings, with some crazy takes. From the Cincinnati Reds to the Seattle Mariners, he sure took a leap of faith picking them to make it. He gives a full breakdown on why he believes in the 2025 Orioles, and why he thinks the Diamondbacks have a real chance to win a title. Be sure to listen to Kenji's picks from a couple of days ago, and follow the show to stay-up-to-date and be the first to listen to each episode.
S3 Ep 9Kenji's Preseason Predictions: Division Winners, Wild Card, and World Series
In this episode, Kenji reveals his predictions for the 2025 MLB season. From division winners and losers to the Wild Card teams and his eventual World Series matchup, this is sure to get a reaction out of the listeners. There is plenty to debate, and these two clowns do plenty of that. Kenji's high on the Red Sox and Royals big time, and one mystery NL team as well. You'll have to listen in to find out who.
S3 Ep 8Prospects to Watch Out For in Spring Training, Yankees End Their Beard Policy
In this episode, Gabe and Kenji break down the Yankees ending their longstanding facial hair policy, and each talk about 5 prospects they're most excited to see in Spring Training. S3 Ep 7Spring Training Has BEGUN! Games are TODAY. Winter is Over!
In this episode, Kenji and Gabe recap the final flurry of offseason moves that happened just before Spring Training. They talk about the Red Sox and Alex Bregman, Pete Alonso and the Mets, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Blue Jays. Games start the day of this episode releasing, and we won't have another day without baseball games until October! Welcome back baseball, we've missed you.
S3 Ep 6Drafting One Player from Every Team, for the next 5 years...
In this offseason episode of Mound Visit, Gabe and Kenji draft one player from every team. But there's a catch. They can only take one player from each team, meaning if someone takes Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts is off the board. If someone takes Aaron Judge, Gerrit Cole is off the board. Tune in to see what strategies each guy employs, and tell us who's team you think is better! Be on the lookout for more offseason content as we approach spring training, and then all new content, with video, multiple days a week once we get rolling with live baseball being played. We can't wait for the season. Thanks for listening to the show and staying with us. See you next time!
S3 Ep 5Our Mid-Offseason Tier List, on a Scale of "Dating" to "Married"
Yes, you read the title right. Welcome to a special episode of the show, where Kenji and I place all 30 teams on the dating spectrum. From "Walking Down the Aisle", to "First Date", and much more. You'll want to tune in to hear what the final tier is called. We'll do more league rankings and predictions as the season gets ever closer, but we HAD to get in and rank all 30 teams with how much has already happened this offseason. Thanks for listening to the show and engaging with us. We are incredibly grateful.
S3 Ep 4The Dodgers keep loading up! Roki + Tanner Scott to LA
The rich get richer. In this episode, Kenji and Gabe discuss the signing of elite international free agent Roki Sasaki and the best reliever on the market in Tanner Scott. Both of whom go to the Dodgers on relatively team-friendly deals. Is this good for baseball? Bad for baseball? Only time will truly tell, but tune in to this episode to hear our takes on the matter.
S3 Ep 3Corbin Burnes Shocks Baseball and the Roki Sasaki Decision is Imminent!
Corbin Burnes surprised everyone in baseball when he chose to go to the Arizona Diamondbacks instead of other suitors that had offered more money. While we can't blame him for making the decision he did, the Orioles fan in Gabe wished he would be coming back to B-more. Kenji is our Japanese baseball savant, and with Roki's decision imminent this week has major implications for both MLB and Japanese baseball for years to come. Stick around towards the end to hear us break down our frustrations with the AL Central contenders not making moves.
S3 Ep 2Merry Christmas! The Stove Remains Hot and Our MLB Christmas Wishlists
Joe joins us for this special holiday episode of the show! We recap some additional trades around the league, and Joe rants about the Rangers offseason while Kenji and I give our Christmas Wishlists for our teams. We hope you all had a great holiday!
