Welcome back to the second series of Mortgage Insider. After an incredibly busy start to 2021 for the housing market, many in the industry breathed a sigh of relief when the chancellor announced an extension to the stamp duty holiday in England and Northern Ireland. A similar holiday is in place in Wales.
Claire and Tony speak to Sean Randall, a partner at Blick Rothenberg, chartered tax adviser and leading stamp duty expert, to look at the details. They also discuss the pressure facing conveyancers, the impact on joint borrower sole proprietor lending and the upcoming surcharge for non-residents.
