Show Notes
California homebuilders say they have little choice but to keep buying Canadian lumber, even with 25% tariffs, as they rebuild thousands of homes lost in Los Angeles wildfires.
Dan Dunmoyer, president of the California Building Industry Association, notes that 80% of the state’s land is federally or state-owned and can’t be logged, while local mills and environmental policies make a quick switch to domestic lumber impractical.
