Joseph Emerson, the off-duty Alaska Airline pilot who tried to cut the engines of a flight in October, has been charged with 83 counts of reckless endangerment and one count of endangering an aircraft. But, he was deterred from seeking counseling for his depression, trauma, and self-medicating tendencies in fear he would be grounded from flying.
