US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose a 200% tariff on European Union wines and other alcoholic beverages. This move is in retaliation to the EU's plan to levy a 50% tariff on American whiskey, which itself was a response to Trump's recent 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.
