February 18th: Lavinia Fisher Dies (1820)
Some historical mysteries are so marred by rumor and speculation it becomes difficult to discern fact from fiction. On February 18th 1820 a woman was executed for crimes she committed against men in Charleston. A woman who was either a member of a dangerous group of robbers or, more remarkably, the first female serial killer in the United States.
