Most women have been taught to fear walking alone at night. No doubt a product of stories like the one we are telling today. On July 16th 1952 a young, bright, and driven young woman was born who, seeking to further her education, moved away from her community. A woman whose case may have sat at a standstill because of her sex and, more importantly, her race.
