April 1st: Gerald Stano Arrested (1980)
Today’s story, quite literally, has almost everything a fan of true crime could ask for. There’s a serial killer with a troubled beginning, a survivor who brings down his decades of crime, a hero detective who spends years of his career trying to solve the seemingly unsolvable cases, and a conspiracy that he got the whole thing wrong. On April 1st 1980 a dangerous man was arrested for, what police initially believed, was only 2 crimes. But, upon getting him into the interrogation room, found out that that number was much, much higher.
