Some crimes can rock an entire community while others can affect an entire nation. On October 31st 1973 the French family experienced every parent’s Halloween nightmare when their daughter didn’t return from trick or treating. Her case, and the back and forth trials of the man responsible for her murder, effected the entire nation and is the reason many in Wisconsin, and in the world, wont allow their children to go out searching for candy to celebrate the Halloween holiday.
