August 8th: Michale Earl Sexton Kills (1990)
On August 8th 1990 a man murdered a woman who devoted her life to helping others. And, while there is no dispute of his guilt, his sentence would later spark the debate of the disproportionate number of African Americans being sentenced to death in North Carolina.
