With much effort by the government to alleviate the rising cost of living and address the basic needs of Malaysians, there will be a new Household Income Survey. This survey which will be due in April will give a more accurate indication of poverty levels which should ideally allow the Government to come out with more refined policies to deal with this issue. To get a breakdown of this new survey, we speak to Dr. Mohd Uzir Mahidin, Chief Statistician at the Department of Statistics.
