Budget 2021 contained a slew of initiatives to address the social protection needs of vulnerable groups who are suffering from the economic fallout of Covid-19. Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop, Chairman of Khazanah Research Institute, gives us his views on the initiatives announced and whether it goes far enough. He also reminds us of the role that government-linked companies (GLCs) can play in providing social protection.
